TLC doing a Prince cover, nothing wrong with that, singing "If i Was Your Girlfriend", sounds kinda kinky, definately nothing wrong with that either. Me not having the video clip, something bloody wrong with that! (That i have never seen, probably not even what i imagine...shame)

Most rock & roll bands are a tightly wound unit that developed their music through years of playing in garages and clubs around their hometown. Steely Dan never subscribed to that aesthetic. As the vehicle for the songwriting of Walter Becker and Donald Fagen, Steely Dan defied all rock & roll conventions. Becker and Fagen never truly enjoyed rock -- with their ironic humor and cryptic lyrics, their eclectic body of work shows some debt to Bob Dylan -- preferring jazz, traditional pop, blues, and R&B. Steely Dan created a sophisticated, distinctive sound with accessible melodic hooks, complex harmonies and time signatures, and a devotion to the recording studio. With producer Gary Katz, Becker and Fagen gradually changed Steely Dan from a performing band to a studio project, hiring professional musicians to record their compositions. Though the band didn't perform live after 1974, Steely Dan's popularity continued to grow throughout the decade, as their albums became critical favorites and their singles became staples of AOR and pop radio stations. Even after the group disbanded in the early '80s, their records retained a cult following, as proven by the massive success of their unlikely return to the stage in the early '90s.

This song oozes coolness and suave, the album it comes from, is a critical acclaim (yes critical acclaim means kapooza to me)

Famous for their song "Barracuda" in 1977 # 11 in the US Charts. "These Dreams" reached # 1 in 1986.
"Heart is an American band formed in Seattle, Washington. Going through several lineup changes, the only constant members of the group are sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson. The group's music during the '70s was influenced by hard rock groups like Led Zeppelin, and folk music. In the '80s they became a mainstream pop act, before dropping out of the public consciousness in the '90s."
"Following a 1990 tour, the Wilson sisters put together an informal acoustic group called the Lovemongers with Sue Ennis and Frank Cox; a four-song EP that included a version of Led Zeppelin's "Battle of Evermore" came out in late 1992, and the quartet performed several times in the Seattle area. The Lovemongers released a full-length album in 1997."
What does RS think of Heart?
Along with debut albums from Foreigner and Boston, Heart's Dreamboat Annie ushered in the era of arena rock and Album Oriented Radio. The album sees the band's sister team of Nancy and Ann Wilson shrewdly pulling off a Led Zep role reversal. Lead singer Ann can shift from pop-thrush blandness to piercing shrieks with the stroke of a power chord, as she does on "Crazy on You" and "Magic Man." Little Queen ups the heavy quotient on hits like "Barracuda" with satisfying results, but murky folk-rock filler like "Dream of the Archer" cuts away at the record's overall power. The clunky Dog and Butterfly merely proves that some aspects of Led Zeppelin's legacy are better left alone. Magazine was a rush-job release of demo tapes, perpetrated when Heart skipped from the Canadian label Mushroom over to Epic. ~ [Source: Rolling Stone]
