You think i'm taking the piss don't you?
Fair enough, but i did this "1000 songs" mathematically with taking into consideration all charts, rankings, sales yade ya blah blah etc.
So we arrive to the point of Sister Sledge, do i like the song? HELL NO! Do other people? Unfortunately so.These people, who bought shit loads of this single are probably the same parents whose kids watch and vote American Idol. (Oh good grief)
But what do the "experts" say about Sister Sledge i hear you say (no, they are not related to Scissor Sisters you plonka)
"Their biggest hits have charted several times in the UK, often accompanied with fresh remixes. We Are Family reached number 7 in 1979, number 33 in 1984 and number 5 in 1993. Lost in Music reached number 17 in 1979, number 4 in 1984 and number 14 in 1993. Thinking of You reached number 11 in 1984 and number 17 in 1993. Originally their biggest UK hit back in 1979, peaking at number 6, He's the Greatest Dancer has not been a hit again in the UK as an updated version, although Will Smith used sampled the backing music in his top 3 UK hit Gettin' Jiggy Wit It."
Well then, the thing we learnt the most and depressingly, is that they made more singles for the masses (Happy Happy Happy, Joy Joy Joy)
