The experts class Supergrass as Alternative Rock, this is entirely untrue. Now some of you know of Garage Rock i'm sure with the likes of New Zealand's D4, Datsuns (yes dirkdirkastan ..new zealand) and The Strokes sounding all much in vein.
The experts also highly respect these guys and often flutter out 5 stars on their albums at a flimsey.
Oddly enough, i have been listening to James King on News Talk ZB talkback, (check my link on the right "hear kiwi's live") late at night while i am busy tap tap .... taparooning away. James has been very busy in the last few nights trying to define what is the greatest songs of the last 50 years. A hard task indeed, trust me i know, but my 1000 list is already locked & loaded.
Coincidence you say (hopefully it was my email to him that made James think of it as a public debate..who knows)
I must say i have enjoyed it very much, listening and most of the songs he has chosen appear here in "The Definitive 1000 Songs Of All Time" But i betcha, ...... super betcha..... Supergrass wont get a mention. But thats ok. I am sure the old biddies lying in bed late late at night don't want to hear Supergrass tub thumping out of their trannies! (Me too, probably)
So to you Mr James King, i think your doing a great job! You are now officially dubbed "King, of The Nightwaves"
Rolling Stone Top 500 Songs ranked this song at Number (How odd, they rate them so high yet not here?) and the Album ranked at Number (next!)

like and everyone has dislikes. Remember music is like clothing.. there are many styles,
so why on earth would all people want to wear jockey "Y" fronts???
Oh, & don't forget to RATE the songs. Ta
