More people bought the album [OST] than watched the movie, it was so bad, it was nominated for 6 Razzies at the first-ever Golden Raspberry Awards (winning one).
Only a very few numbers by ELO saved this album from ending up as expensive tea coasters. Olivia Newton John (her Grease picture was on my bedroom wall for a few years...yum) must have yearned to do more "Grease" like material instead of this soft pop drivel.
